Late 19th C writing desk of small proportions


Origin: England, London   Period: circa 1890

Quality 19th century Victorian mahogany small writing desk showing characteristics of the Arts and Crafts movement of that period. Circa 1890, it is stamped by the renowned makers Jas Shoolbred & Co.

One single drawer with reeded carvings and original brass handles.    

The overhanging top is connected to the legs by brackets fixed under each corner.

The turned legs rest on the original porcelain castors.

The inset leather top of a beautiful red colour with gold tooling is in very good condition and believed to be the original.

Wear and tear commensurate with age and use, overall absolutely adequate to be enjoyed for many years to come.
