William & Mary Revival Armchair Newly Reupholstered in Luxury GP & J Baker 'Rockbird' Fabric

Origin: England   Period: Circa 1920

Introduce an exquisite statement of heritage luxury into your interior with this high quality early 20th century William and Mary upholstered armchair.

Expertly curated, this piece beautifully marries historical craftsmanship with iconic British textile design.

The stately frame boasts a high, gently arched crest or hump back and scrolled padded arms.

It is supported by an understructure featuring turned dark wood legs, a classic turned H-stretcher, and beautifully carved front Spanish feet.

The chair has been masterfully reupholstered in premium GP & J Baker 'Rockbird Signature' textile—a historic, Chinoiserie-inspired print originally designed in 1911. Retailing at roughly £179 per metre, the luxury fabric features a flawless pattern match. A pair of vibrant terracotta birds perch amidst blossoming magnolias and rich teal foliage against a crisp cream background.

Fitted with a plush, deep, loose seat cushion with clean self-piping edges, this armchair blends antique grandeur with exceptional comfort. Perfect for a traditional living room, study, or sophisticated library.

The chair has just been reupholstered. The wooden base is solid and sturdy, showing a gentle, authentic patina with minor cosmetic finish wear on the tips of the feet consistent with age.

Dimensions in cm:

Overall/maximum 74W (including the arms) x 74D (measured with the back against the wall) x 110 H

Dimensions of the wooden base/frame at the top (more relvant to gain the sense of the proportion): 65 width at the front, 55 width at the back, 60.5 depth.
