An exceptionally charming and highly collectible antique sterling silver vesta case, or match safe, of circular form. The front lid is beautifully embellished with a finely detailed, hand painted enamel portrait depicting a pug dog wearing a light blue collar with miniature accent bells.

The reverse of the case is left completely smooth with a highly polished finish. It features a loop to the side, allowing it to be worn as a pocket watch fob or a statement pendant chain.

This piece is fully hallmarked along the inner rim and partially hallmarked to the lid. The stamps include the Maker mark (indistinct), the Lion Passant guaranteeing point 925 sterling silver, the Anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, and the date letter g for 1906.

Excellent antique condition overall. The silver has a beautiful lustre with only minor surface wear consistent with age.

The enamel remains bright, crisp, and intact. Size 5cm (including loop) x 4.5cm x 0.5cm
