An 18th Century Carved Element - Carving

Origin: Probably France   Period: 18th Century

A very interesting and fascinating wooden element depicting a hat of a Bishop.

Probably it was part of a larger sculpture or panelling from an altar piece or a tabernacle or may be even from the top of a large frame.

The original religious purpose of this very genuine carving, enhances even more the charm of this decorative object.

Please note how great the back looks as well.
