Origin: England   Period: First half 19th Century

A fabulous portrait miniature of a gentleman wearing a blue jacket with a blue velvet collar and gold buttons, a yellow waistcoat and a white chemise with a tied cravat. His powdered hair is worn loose and the background is a ruby red drape.

Painted on ivory in a black rectangular frame with oval gilt metal mount.

The reverse of the frame is inscribed: Heathfield Young of Dorking died 1837.
