19th Century Extending Mahogany Dining Table

Origin: England   Period: Circa 1860

A very fine mahogany wind-out extending mahogany dining table, with two extra leaves and a handle to extend or reduce the table.

This table has a name plate, for the well-known and respected Joseph Fitter (b.1826) of Birmingham, attached to the wind-out mechanism.

Made from the finest quality figured solid mahogany, the top has a lovely moulded edge and it stands on well-made turned legs with brass caps and porcelain castors.Made circa 1860.

There is an old repair to one leg with wear and tear commensurate with age.
